Mistshore is set in the 4th Edition Forgotten Realms universe.  The novel is part of the Ed Greenwood Presents: Waterdeep series, a set of standalone novels written by various authors that can be read in any order. The series provides readers with an introduction to the Forgotten Realms and the city of Waterdeep as it exists 100 years in the future.  Mistshore tells the story of Icelin, an orphan mage with a mysterious past that comes back to haunt her and forces her to flee to the strange, frightening neighborhood of Mistshore, a pile of rotting, half-sunk ships in Waterdeep's polluted harbor.
